I don't know that I want/need my health insurer to determine how I live my life, but I could definitely use their resources and knowledge base to help me select health care providers so I get the most for my money.

We all want incentives to do the right thing. Its funny and sad but true.... We go to work and expect our boss to praise us for doing our job. The same is true for our health insurance company. We want them to give us incentives to eat right and exercise when it is in our best interest to do those things anyway. I'm not saying I don't like incentives, I just think its funny.

This. A thousand times this. How about spending my money on allowing me to get the diagnostic tests or medicines my doctors feel I need, and leave the information to that which enables me to choose providers and services intelligently.

I have found the HealthLine nurses to be very helpful. I can call anytime with a concern and they will work to get me information, an answer, or anything that might be helpful. Due to a chronic condition I also receive case management through Accordant Care which is wonderful! I would be lost without them!

I certainly feel that it is appropriate to give incentives for those he lead healthy lifestyles. Personally, I pay a high premium each month but rarely use my insurance because I am currently eating well, excercising regularly and managing stress well. I think I should certainly be rewarded for these efforts as I clearly do not cost the company very much in healthcare.
