generic drugs

I feel if you get generic drugs it should be covered. Time released pain medications should be a tier1 and not a non preferred tier2. Many patients will hit the doughnut hole within 6 months. They will be unable to pay for the drugs they need and seek pain relief some other way. What can we do as a nation to see pain as a sickness instead of an excuse. These people need help. They have to jump through hoops to get help just to be unable to purchase the medicine they need.

Hi Chris – We understand there are many patients who are feeling the effects of the “donut hole,” but we don’t encourage anyone to forgo treatment for any medical condition.

Are you a BCBSNC member? If so, we encourage you to call the customer service phone number on the back of your BCBSNC member ID card so we can see if there are any specific BCBSNC programs available to help you manage costs while helping you get the care you need.
