Go back to plans that cover everything with just a small copay, people would get the coverage they need. This deductible stuff is ridiculous....i need tests, surgery that i cant afford to have because i dont have the deductible and coinsurance to do it. My brother had the right idea--get out of the US, people can criticize all they want Englands health care is great. He has seen both and said you couldnt pay him enough money to come back to this country.

Unfortunately, as the cost of medical goods and services have risen, so has the consumer portion of their medical bill. When consumers pay smaller co-pays out of pocket, they are not as aware of health care costs. This can lead to extra spending which in turn can drive up medical costs for everyone.
That’s why we think it’s important to give our customers tools to make informed decisions about their care. We’ve recently launched a new treatment cost estimator which helps remove some of the mystery of what care costs. With this web-based search, our customers can research how much care costs at different locations and providers. We also have a series of tools to help consumers find lower cost prescription drugs. These tools are particularly important with our consumer driven plans, such as Health Savings Accounts. While they aren’t a one-size-fits all solution, and may not be applicable to your specific situation, they do help many consumers find lower cost options, which in turn benefits everyone.
